Privacy Policy

Your data stays on your device

Expense Pop stores all of your data — expenses, categories, subscription records, tax settings, notes, and receipt photos — locally on your device using iOS secure storage. Nothing is ever transmitted to a server, the cloud, or any third party. Maylin Bloom Solutions Inc has no access to your data at any time.

Information we do not collect

We do not collect, store, or process any of the following:

  • Your name, email address, or any personal identifiers
  • Location data
  • Usage analytics or crash reports sent to our servers
  • Advertising identifiers
  • Financial account information of any kind

Receipt photos

When you choose to attach a receipt, the photo is copied into the app's private storage folder on your device. It is never uploaded or shared. If you delete the app, these photos are permanently removed with it. We recommend keeping a backup in your camera roll.

Device permissions

Camera: Requested only when you tap the camera button to capture a receipt. Never used in the background.

Photo Library: Requested only when you choose to pick an existing photo as a receipt. Never accessed without your direct action.

Notifications: Requested only if you enable the "Remind me" toggle on a subscription. Used solely to send you a local reminder one day before a renewal date. No notification data leaves your device.

No accounts required

Expense Pop does not require you to create an account or sign in. There is no login, no registration, and no user profile associated with your use of the app.

Third-party services

We do not use any third-party analytics SDKs, advertising networks, or data-sharing services. The only third party involved in delivering the app is Apple, through the App Store — Apple's own privacy policy governs their data practices (see apple.com/privacy).

In-app purchases

If you purchase a subscription through the app, that transaction is processed entirely by Apple. We do not receive, store, or handle your payment card details. For billing inquiries, contact Apple Support at support.apple.com.

Children's privacy

Expense Pop is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you believe a child has used the app and have concerns, please contact us.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the app after any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.

Terms of Use

Acceptance of terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of Expense Pop ("the app"), developed by Maylin Bloom Solutions Inc ("we," "us," or "our"), a corporation incorporated in Ontario, Canada. By downloading or using the app, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

What the app is — and is not

Expense Pop is a personal finance tracking tool that helps you log, categorise, and review your own spending and subscription records.

It is:

  • A convenient tool for recording and reviewing expenses you enter yourself
  • A reminder tool for subscription renewal dates you set yourself

It is not:

  • A financial advisory or accounting service
  • A substitute for professional financial, tax, or legal advice
  • Connected to your bank, credit cards, or billing systems in any way
  • A guaranteed alerting or monitoring service

Nothing in the app should be construed as financial advice.

Your responsibility to verify

You are solely responsible for verifying the accuracy of all information you enter into the app, and for checking charges, subscription amounts, and renewal dates directly with your service providers. The app displays only the information you input — it has no connection to live billing systems and cannot detect, confirm, or prevent actual charges on your accounts.

No liability for missed renewals or billing errors

Important: To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Maylin Bloom Solutions Inc is not liable for any missed subscription renewals, unexpected charges, duplicate billing, overdraft or insufficient-funds fees, billing discrepancies, or any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive financial loss of any kind arising from:

(a) your use of, or reliance on, information entered into the app;
(b) any failure of the app to send, deliver, or display a reminder;
(c) any inaccuracy in dates, amounts, or categories you have entered;
(d) deletion of app data following uninstallation, device loss, or device reset.

This limitation applies even if we have been advised of the possibility of such loss. Expense Pop is a helpful personal tool — not a guaranteed billing management system.

Disclaimer of warranties

The app is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of harmful components.

Data loss

Because all data is stored locally on your device, we have no ability to recover your data if your device is lost, damaged, reset, or if you delete the app. We strongly recommend regularly backing up your device using iCloud or iTunes.

Intellectual property

The app, including its design, code, graphics, and content, is owned by Maylin Bloom Solutions Inc and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the app without prior written permission.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the app will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario, Canada.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will indicate changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
